As a member of the Green Building Council of Australia and New Zealand Building Council, Haden is committed to environmental excellence and is actively working towards Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) principles throughout our operations.


 

We actively promote the use of sustainable solutions, and seek alliances with like minded suppliers and industry groups.   

All project managers are responsible for ensuring that each project is assessed for optimum reduction in energy consumption and waste minimisation, and minimising the carbon footprint of the building that results from HVAC systems.   

Design, construction and service initiatives offer many opportunities to minimise our impact as an industry on the environment by using existing and emergent technologies: 

  • co-generation / tri-generation 
  • energy demand analysis, monitoring and management 
  • trending and analysis 
  • monitoring and targeting – managing set points, plant operation schedules 
  • integrated ‘intelligent’ controls / building management systems (BMS) 
  • CHP (Combined Heat & Power) 
  • absorption Chillers and high efficiency chillers, including a thermal storage system to maximise the energy efficiency of a Tri-generation system
  • Chartered Institue of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) commissioning and fine tuning of the Engineering Services systems

  • power synchronisation and grid protection through our group partnership with O’Donnell Griffin* - grid power and on site generated power are synchronised with protection of the grid system to the Electrical Authority’s approval.
